Born out of
campus frustration.

Every Nigerian student knows the drill — someone posts a laptop for sale on a WhatsApp group, you send money, and then they go quiet. Or you agree on a price, meet up, and they try to negotiate down at the last second.

CampusDec was built to end that chaos. We created a platform where prices are fixed, sellers are verified, payments are held in escrow until you confirm you received your item, and every transaction has a paper trail.

Starting with Lagos universities in Phase 1, our goal is simple — to become the default marketplace for every Nigerian campus, building a circular economy where students reuse, recycle, and trade safely.

How does escrow work on CampusDec? ▼
When you pay for an item, your money is held securely by CampusDec — not sent to the seller. Once you receive the item and confirm delivery in your dashboard, the payment is released to the seller. If you don't confirm within 48 hours, the payment is automatically released. You have a 24-hour window after delivery to raise a dispute if something is wrong.
How much does it cost to sell on CampusDec? ▼
Creating an account and listing items is completely free. CampusDec charges a flat 10% commission on each completed sale, deducted automatically from your payout. There are no listing fees, subscription fees, or hidden charges. You only pay when you make a sale.
How do I become a verified seller? ▼
Sign up for a CampusDec account and choose "Buyer + Seller" as your account type. You'll be guided through our onboarding process where you provide your bank details, agree to our seller policy, and submit for admin review. Our team manually reviews all seller applications, typically within 24 hours. Once approved, you can start listing immediately.
What happens if I receive the wrong item or it's damaged? ▼
You have 24 hours after delivery confirmation to raise a dispute. Go to your dashboard, find the order, and click "Raise Dispute". Describe the issue and upload evidence (photos). Our admin team will review the case, contact both parties, and issue a ruling — typically a full refund, partial refund, or release to seller depending on the evidence.
Can I negotiate prices with sellers? ▼
No. All prices on CampusDec are fixed and non-negotiable. This is a core platform rule that protects both buyers (no pressure tactics) and sellers (no lowball offers). Our chat system is monitored and attempting to negotiate prices or conduct transactions outside the platform can result in account suspension.
When and how do sellers get paid? ▼
Sellers receive their payout after the buyer confirms delivery, minus the 10% platform commission. Payments are sent directly to the bank account you provided during onboarding. If the buyer doesn't confirm within 48 hours of delivery, the escrow is automatically released to you. Payouts typically reflect within 1–2 business days depending on your bank.
